Since the attack on February 8 against the Epoch Times Chief Technical Officer Dr. Yuan P. Li, who is a colleague of mine, I have been in shock. The attack against Dr. Li is also an attack against The Epoch Times as a whole. Over the last few years, The Epoch Times has reported truthfully to the international community about the persecution of Falun Gong, mainland Chinese people's struggles to protect their basic rights, and the pro-democracy movements inside and outside of China. The attack on Dr. Li shows the Chinese Communist Party's fear of the truth, and the deception and persecution of mainland Chinese people who have no other ways to learn the truth.
Five years ago, several Epoch Times reporters and columnists based in China, including Zhang Yuhui, were illegally arrested by the CCP and persecuted. Today, the CCP extended its evil hands overseas. The CCP spies' violent attack on Dr. Li at gunpoint confirms the severity of the CCP's persecution against Falun Gong, and the fear and anxiety the CCP has over the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and the withdrawals from the CCP both spearheaded by Epoch Times. The CCP's violence only helps people see clearly its evil nature.
The CCP spies' attack on Dr. Li and the looting of his home are an attempt to deprive the Chinese people of the opportunity to learn the truth. However, the CCP does not know that The Epoch Times has many other experts on breaking through China's Internet blockage. Outside of The Epoch Times , there are also many people with conscience who have expertise in this area. The CCP's despicable tactics have been in vain. The momentum of the worldwide movement towards freedom and democracy and the inevitable collapse of the CCP cannot be diverted by the will of a few men.
For the sake of the mainland Chinese people who are being harmed by the wicked CCP, for the sake of the Falun Gong practitioners who are being persecuted, and for the sake of our colleagues at The Epoch Times and the columnists who have been attacked or detained, I will join the Epoch Times relay hunger strike and not eat for 24 hours.
I call on all reporters of The Epoch Times worldwide, all Chinese people with conscience, and all of the world's people who cherish justice, to join this grassroots effort against the persecution in whatever form suitable for them. I encourage them to join The Epoch Times worldwide relay hunger strike and to support the hunger strikes by civil rights activists, such as attorney Gao Zhisheng in mainland China, and others inside and outside China.

Let us join forces to resist violence! We must eliminate the dark forces of the CCP's spies, stop the damage the wicked CCP has done to the human race, and protect the fundamental dignity and civilizations of mankind.
