January 12, 2006 marked the one-year anniversary of the Epoch Times publishing a call for all members to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. The "Resign from the CCP" campaign started on February 2005, and in the blink of an eye, over 7 million people have announced their resignations on the internet. Many articles regarding the "spread of the Nine Commentaries disintegrates the CCP" have been published on the internet. In my view, the meaning of the Nine Commentaries and the "Resign from the CCP" campaign is not limited to the disintegration of the CCP.
Some people have doubts about the political climate of a "post CCP era" and worry about social unrest during the transition of the Chinese society. I think we should explain clearly what the Nine Commentaries and the "Resign from the CCP" campaign means to the rebuilding of China. People tend to not take the first step if they cannot see the second step. Not only some Chinese "scholars," but also some politicians of democratic countries think this way.
On March 19, 2005, an assembly was held in front of Capital Hill, Washington D.C. to mark the resignation of 370,000 people from the CCP. At the rally I said, "It is not outside military forces, political, or economic sanctions that are eroding the CCP. The spiritual force that we are witnessing today is dissolving the CCP. This is what I would like to remind everyone of – the fourth force that will change China." During the assembly, I also pointed out, that these resignations signal the beginning of China's peaceful transition to a democratic society. (Note 1)
In the last several months, we have repeatedly emphasized that resignation from the CCP will drive the peaceful transition of China to a more democratic society, because of length limitations, I will not discuss in detail the data or reasons. Many writers, including Attorney Gao Zhisheng, Tang Zi, Jing Zhong, Yu Lingyi, and others, have also touched on this topic. However, the hard work of only these people is not enough; we need everyone to understand this issue. Only the CCP considers "completely destroying the old world" to be a precondition for constructing a "new world." This practice proves that the CCP can only destroy things—it cannot build anything.
The constructive meaning of the Nine Commentaries and the "Resign from the CCP" campaign is that we need to take a "keep the good things, get rid of the bad things" approach to the current situation. The intention is to keep the good side (human nature) and get rid of the bad side (Party nature) of each CCP member. Regarding those who don't belong to the Party, the intention is to keep their good side (conscience), and get rid of their bad side (the result of the brainwashing by the Party Culture). When considering the Chinese nation, keep its good (the functions of the government), and get rid of the bad (CCP control of government).
It could be said that the Nine Commentaries and the "Resign from the CCP" campaign are a painless process that won't cause any harm but will have many benefits, which are to remove the "CCP evil spirit" from every Chinese person, from all levels Party membership, and from the whole nation.
Even if we limit the meaning of peaceful transition to the transition from a "Communist society" to a "non-Communist society", then the social reconciliation driven by the Nine Commentaries and subsequent "Resign from the CCP" campaign still has profound meaning in a "post-CCP" era in China. (Note 2)
Let's take a closer look. The "Resign from the CCP" campaign is not only a peaceful transition that achieves the goal of "defeating the enemy without fighting," but it also opens the door for the reconciliation of the whole society. If we consider the spread of Falun Gong as the beginning of the rebuilding of Chinese society's morality, and that the rapid development of Falun Gong lead Falun Gong practitioners to moral refinement, then the Nine Commentaries and the "Resign from the CCP" campaign are driving moral refinement in the whole of society, not just Falun Gong practitioners, and people can regain their consciences because of the "Resign from the CCP" campaign. In other words, the campaign is a battle between good and evil. Such large-scale moral refinement prepares the moral foundation for the future China.
China's force for justice is assembling during the "Resign from the CCP" campaign. Currently, more than 7 million people have joined the assembly.
Furthermore, the Nine Commentaries are editorials about the Communist party, but not about Communist party members; so it is actually a chance for salvation of all Party members and members of CCP-affiliated organizations. The same opportunity is also offered to Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the CCP. Everyone has a chance to leave the CCP evil cult—to choose a new life. This scale of salvation is unprecedented in human history.
Of course, it is up to the individual to decide whether to respond to this opportunity; that is one's personal decision. Because of this, I suggest to every Party or Youth League member, when reading the Nine Commentaries, it is best to temporarily not think about your CCP membership, but to read the articles from the viewpoint of being "outside of the Party." After reading all of the articles, consider whether you want to return to the Party. First, have a clear look at the CCP's crimes by standing outside of the Party, and then fully consider the crimes that you would be responsible for by being within the CCP system. Then repent and atone, resign from the Party, and help to spread the Nine Commentaries. Tell others to resign as well.
If we are really concerned about China's transition and future stability, then we still need to understand the "force for justice" assembled by the Nine Commentaries and the "Resign from the CCP" campaign. This has also prepared a transition government for the post CCP era when it occurs.
First of all, the people that resigned from the CCP have a conscience. Under current circumstances in China, the CCP still controls people by using violence. So there is still some risk in resigning from the CCP; personal interests may also be impacted. Without a strong conscience, one will not do the right thing while facing such risk.
Second, the people that resign from the CCP are clear headed. They have been able to jump out of the Party's culture of brainwashing and living in a maze, to analyze the issue with their own sensibilities; they can analyze the CCP's crimes and lies for themselves.
Third, the people that resign from the CCP have good foresight, especially those that resigned in the beginning. Even now, while the CCP still looks strong, they have been able to see the weaknesses of the CCP, they can see that the CCP is going to end soon. Without foresight, they could not do that.
Fourth, people that resign from the CCP are persons with courage. "People with the sense of shame are close to courageous persons," they can admit their mistakes. Doesn't this show their courage?
If you are a theist, you shall see the evil nature of the CCP, and you will know that leaving the CCP is a thing that makes God happy; if you are an atheist, and willing to play a role in the post-CCP era Chinese government, you will know that if you don't distance yourself from the CCP, when the CCP is being cast aside, you as a Member of the CCP will also be cast aside.
Whether you believe in the "divine right of kings" or democratic elections, the vast responsibility of China's future government will be carried by those who resign from the CCP in the beginning. The earlier you leave the CCP, the more you show your conscience, wisdom, foresight, and courage. This could even be the source of votes in all levels of the future government.
Falun Gong practitioners have repeatedly emphasized that they are not involved in politics, and are not looking for power. Post-CCP China needs other people with "will and virtue" to manage public and social life. The number of people that have resigned from the CCP is over 7 million. For Hu Jintao, "the time that God and people leave for you is limited;" for others, including people at all levels of the CCP, Chinese scholars, everyday people, or those that hope the future Chinese government can have positive accomplishments, isn't time also limited?
