NEW YORK - An outstanding blend of western classical music and traditional Chinese dance will be performed at Tribeca Performing Arts Center of BMCC on July 9. The audience will have the opportunity to appreciate the contemporary eastern and western performing artist’s world class solo and dance performances.
The performing western musicians include the world-class soprano Stefka Evstatieva and celebrated cellist of the Forte String Quartet, Kalin Ivanov.
Ms. Stefka Evstatieva is a Bulgarian born singer, a soprano of international acclaim. She is a graduate of the Bulgarian National Conservatory in Sofia and has studied in Vienna for refinement. In her professional career as a performing artist, she has won a series of awards at international musical competitions. She is a winner of the Fifth International "P. I. Tchaikovsky" competition in Moscow and received a special award from the jury for contemporary Russian work.

Mr. Kalin Ivanov, a graduate from Brooklyn College with a Masters of Music degree, is a prominent cellist, recitalist, chamber musician, and recording artist. A native of Bulgaria, he began studying cello at age of six with his father.
A winner of the C.W. Post Chamber Music Festival Concerto Competition, he has performed in many countries, including Bulgaria, France, England, Russia and the U.S. In 2003, Mr. Ivanov, along with many prestigious musicians and recent winners of the Tchaikovsky competition, was selected to perform in the International Music Festival in commemoration of Daniel Shafran, which was sponsored by the Moscow State Philharmonic and the State Institute of Arts.
Currently teaching cello and chamber music at a number of schools including Adelphi University, and SUNY and Brooklyn College Preparatory Center for Music, Mr. Ivanov also performs as soloist and principal cellist with Manhattan Virtuosi and Ensemble du Monde Chamber Orchestras. He is also a founding member of Trio "BG", the Bulgarian Piano Quartet and the Forte String Quartet.
The performing artists also include the mezzo soprano singer Ms. Mariana Karpatova, and pop music singer Laleh.

The renowned Asian tenor, Mr. Guan Guimin, will also perform for the concert.
According to the concert organizer from the Global Mission to Rescue Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners (GMR), all the performance income will be completely used in rescuing the orphans, whose parents were tortured to death in China due to the crackdown of Falun Gong in China.
