Overseas Media Quiet after CCP Kills Young Woman

A few days ago, Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong died in Mainland China as a result of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Gao had been shocked with an electric baton until her face was severely disfigured. Several overseas organizations strongly condemned the Chinese government’s crimes and its efforts to hide them.

On June 14, Falun Gong practitioners from Europe and Taiwan went to the Chinese embassy in Helsinki to hold a peaceful appeal. They asked the CCP to immediately stop its six-year-long systematic and brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong practitioners worldwide will be going to the Chinese embassies and consulates to protest against Gao Rongrong’s death and to let the world and international media know how she was tortured to death.

On June 10, when Gao Rongrong’s parents went to Masanjia labor camp to see her, a director named Wang said, “At first, we did not want to detain Gao Rongrong. We were merely pressured by ‘the top.’ Now, we only listen to instructions from ‘the top’ regarding when you can visit her, or when she will be released.”

According to reports, Gao Rongrong was beaten with an electric baton until her face was disfigured. Once her condition stabilized slightly, she was able to escape, and personally exposed the Jiang-Luo (Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan) regime’s systematic persecution of Falun Gong.

Out of revenge, the head of the ”610 Office”, Luo Gan, personally directed the investigations into Gao Rongrong’s escape, calling it the “No 26 major case.” The persecution methods used were even more covert and despicable to hide the details of the case from public knowledge. Under the directives of Luo Gan, the Liaoning province Political and Law Committee, 610 Office, departments of justice and public security etc. jointly colluded to block all news of Gao Rongrong and then kidnap the Falun Gong practitioners who helped rescue her.

On June 20 2005, Falun Gong practitioners in Chicago gathered in front of the Chinese embassy to protest against the brutal actions of the CCP’s persecution of Gao Rongrong. They read articles exposing the persecution of Gao Rongrong and the bloodthirsty nature of the CCP, strongly censuring the brutal acts of the CCP regime.

Ms. Nancy, a representative from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong said, “The biggest difference between the persecution of Gao Rongrong, compared to other practitioners who have been persecuted to death, is that this persecution was carried out in the dark and the CCP spared no efforts in covering it up, using over ten years of experience accumulated from political conflicts and deceit. Yet many media and governments worldwide have also chosen to turn a blind eye to the persecution, being enticed and coerced by the economic benefits promised by the CCP.”

Falun Gong practitioners in Washington, DC also condemned the brutal acts of the CCP and held an urgent press conference in front of the Chinese embassy on June 20 calling for the arrest of Tang Yubao and Jiang Zhaohua, who were responsible for disfiguring Gao Rongrong, and others who took part in the torture.

Professor Yu, a biology scientist who spoke at the news conference, said, “The CCP even persecuted to death a Falun Gong practitioner whose torture had attracted worldwide attention. This shows that the CCP is openly challenging everyone in the world who has a sense of compassion and justice and who respects human rights. It’s as though the CCP is saying “We’re gangsters and we’re afraid of no one.”
