HONG KONG - The winners of the Miss Hong Kong Beauty Pageant, Kate Tsui, Queenie Chu and Fu Sze Sze, recently conducted interviews for the News World. Tsui said that she was overjoyed, but had been too busy for celebrations.
According to a report from Zhonghua.net, the newly crowned Miss Hong Kong, Kate Tsui, has been working endlessly since winning the pageant the previous night. Besides appearing at an Olympics party, she had to attend a shooting session for the show “Hong Kong Beauty University.” After that she had to appear for a photo shoot for a government magazine. It was not until daybreak that she finally arrived at her residence in Jiangjun Ao. According to sources, she still had to appear for a photo session for a biography “The Journey to Create a Miss Hong Kong,” making her the busiest beauty queen crowned.
Upon arriving at the main entrance of her apartment, she said she did not feel that all the activities were too tough to endure. Tsui’s residence, which is only a small apartment at Jiangjun Ao, is in sharp contrast to the incumbent Miss Hong Kong, Cao Minli, who lives in the luxurious Xiwen Huayuan District. Responding to questions about being called “The Beauty Queen From a Humble Background,” Tsui said that that she did not mind that label. After a busy night, she still appeared fresh and jubilant and there were no signs of stress reflected on her face. Tsui said that she has always enjoyed being active and is looking forward to being kept busy.
Second runner-up, the soft spoken Fu Sze Sze, was often teased by the contest host during the event. She admitted that prior to the contest, she did not feel that her voice was an obstacle. After the contest, she realized she needed to improve her voice level when she speaks and intended to do so by practicing her pronunciation by reading the newspapers aloud. Fu also revealed that she had to go on diet for three months before the contest and she intended upon her return home to pamper herself with her mother’s durian cake. Originally, Fu was suppose to start her first year in university, but had to postpone her studies after winning the pageant. Her parents gave their approval, as this was a rare opportunity.
