On the afternoon of August 14, a student’s dormitory in Zhoukou High School of Sichuan province, collapsed. Seven students died and six were injured. However, the propaganda department of Sichuan’s Provincial Party Committee issued an order that prohibits any local media from freely reporting on this incident. Currently, this accident has not been made public in China.

According to Ming Daily, at 4:50 p.m., a student's dormitory, that had been in poor structural condition, suddenly collapsed. More than ten students in the dormitory were buried and injured. At least six students were injured and seven were sent to the hospital and later died after failing to respond to medical treatment.

According to local reports, right after the accident, many reporters from various regions of Sichuan arrived at the spot to cover the incident. However, they immediately received a command from the propaganda department of Sichuan’s Provincial Party Committee, forbidding all media from freely reporting the incident.
