TAIPEI - The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Office of Discipline Inspection Commission disclosed that Wang Chun, the Former Deputy Secretary-General of the Jilin Province Commission was fired for taking bribes.

Wang, one of the highest officials to be dismissed is reported to have taken large amounts of money under the table. The Jilin Province Commission suspended his CCP membership and dismissed him from his position.

According to the report from The China News in Beijing, Wang Chun used his authority to collect huge amounts of bribes of cash during his appointments as Deputy Secretary of the Baishan City Commission, mayor and as the Secretary of City Commission. As the Deputy Secretary-General of the Jilin Province Commission, he used his authority to make money when determining positions. He had took more than 100 thousand yuan (~$ 97,000 U.S dollars) from dozens of staff members who wanted to get promoted, including the Baishan City Chief of the Land Bureau, Jiang Huicong.

In addition, he used his authority to get involved in financial activities. He collected a total of 300,000 yuan (~$36,000 U.S dollars) and 3 gold bars (~ $2,600 U.S dollars) from an owner of a private enterprise when taking care of his problems. When approving and handling business-related items for a personal company, he collected more than 210,000 yuan (~$ 26,000 U.S dollars). It was reported that he took $ 10,000 from one company by landing them a construction project from the government.

Even on holidays Wang Chun could make money by having people pay him off for going overseas and he also received presents for funerals and weddings.

The Jilin Province Discipline Inspection Commission concluded that Wan Chun had severely violated regulations and laws by making money through his position. The Commission suspended his party membership and fired him and told all members of CCP to learn from this lesson and remind them that they are being watched.
