Banker Enjoys the Opportunity to Experience Shen Yun

GOLD COAST, Australia—Brisbane banker Frank Chun was in the audience for the Shen Yun performance, on April 27, at the Gold Coast’s Arts Theatre.

Mr. Frank Chun came from Taiwan to work as a banker in Brisbane and he spoke about how happy he was to have the opportunity to enjoy the performance. “It’s an opportunity to see the people and to have the beautiful performance in Australia to show the people of the world 5,000 years of Chinese culture,” he said.

Based in New York, Shen Yun Performing Arts was established by Falun Dafa practitioners in 2006. The company’s mission is to use performing arts to revive the essence of Chinese culture—traditionally considered a divinely inspired civilization. Since the Chinese Communist Party is officially an atheist regime, it is afraid of the freedom of expression this arts company enjoys in the West.

Mr. Chun said, “Because I lived in Taiwan, the people there can enjoy and we can share in the traditional Chinese culture. So as this culture is spread, most of the people in the world can enjoy it.”

He would recommend the show to his friends, saying, “Don’t miss the opportunity because many years ago I was in New York and I missed out. I’m so happy to have the opportunity to see the show in Australia.”

Graphic Designer’s Heart Moved

Michael Lin, a graphic designer, was moved when he saw the Shen Yun performance at The Gold Coast Arts Centre, on April 27.

“The show touched people’s hearts,” Mr. Lin said after seeing the show. “I am quite familiar with traditional Chinese culture, and they’ve represented the stories very nicely.”

The Shen Yun website says that “throughout history, almost every culture looked toward the divine for inspiration. Art was meant to uplift, bringing joy to both the people who created and experienced it. It is this principle that drives Shen Yun performers and their art.”

As a graphic designer, Mr. Lin also enjoyed the background colours that the digital backdrop provided. He said, “I really liked the play of the lights and all the artists on stage.”

The website also tells us that “with state-of-the-art graphics technology, Shen Yun’s digital backdrop team creates vividly animated settings, extending the stage and transporting the audience to a world where heaven and earth are one.”

Mr. Lin attends a lot of shows in Taiwan, and he said that Shen Yun is the best that he has seen, calling it a beautiful performance.
