‘Everything was beautiful,’ Says Dancer on Shen Yun

LOS ANGELES—Mahfuza Kapadia, a dance veteran, saw Shen Yun Performing Arts for the first time in 2009, when her daughter took her to see the performance as a Mother’s Day gift. This time, Ms. Kapadia came back to see the show so she could bring her friend to see Shen Yun.

“It’s simply beautiful … I love everything of it: the tradition, the culture, the computer synchronization [digital backdrops], and everything,” she said.

Ms. Kapadia, who used to be based in London, has done folk dancing for quite a few years, performing in different countries as well as for the BBC.

Ms. Kapadia said the female dancers were very beautiful.

“I love it; the dress, and the costumes, everything was beautiful.”

And the male dancers were also impressive, she said.

“They are very strong and very nice,” she said.

Based in New York, Shen Yun has a mission to revive China’s divinely inspired culture. The classical Chinese dance and music company stages performances all around the globe, presenting audiences with shows that are both visually exhilarating and also rich with inner meaning and culture.

“Very nice; I love traditions anywhere from my own country or any country, I love that,” said Mr. Kapadia.
