GTA V: PC Version of ‘Grand Theft Auto 5′ Appears on Gamestop; Xbox One, PS4 Not Clear

Rumors of a PC version of “Grand Theft Auto V” are persisting, but it appears that it might actually be coming to the platform after all.

A PC version of the massively popular game appeared on GameStop on the English version of the retail website before it was taken down.

Website Gaming Owl grabbed a screenshot of the listing, which clearly shows the “GTA V” box with “Games for Windows” on top of it. On the site, it reads, “For PC, by Rockstar Games.”

Rockstar has never given confirmation of a PC, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4 version of the game. It’s only available for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

“Browsing GameStop’s PowerUp Rewards website, I came across Rockstar’s famous Grand Theft Auto V listed for PC. The game is currently only available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, so maybe PC players will finally get some love. If true, I personally hope for a fully optimized experience that won’t require and insanely high-budget gaming machine to run at 1440p,” Gaming Owl wrote.

A PS4 version of “GTA V” has also appeared on Worten.pt, a Portuguese retail website, showing that the game was for sale. However, it didn’t offer a release date. “We would inform you that we have the information that Worten stores will sell the game in question,” the retailer told EuroGamer a few weeks ago.

And in early February, Czech site SuperGamer.cz said the game will be available for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One on June 13. The cover was sketchy, saying “Games For Windows Live,” which is no longer used by Microsoft.

The rumors come as reports say Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, could be working on the third “Mafia” game, according to reports a few days ago.

2K Games, a subsidiary of Take-Two, has made a call for voice over, facial scans, and motion capture for “Mafia 3,” EuroGamer reported.

Characters who were mentioned in a casting call were named Franklin, Tony, and Mickey. Franklin, in his 20s, was described as someone who “knows how to get a job done at any cost” and Tony, in his 30s, is “a genius with numbers and statistics who runs sports betting operations.” Mickey, in his teens, was described as a street hustler, according to the report.

The website said the game might be set in Louisiana–possibly in New Orleans.
