Betty White Dies? Nope, Death Hoax Saying ‘RIP’ Goes Viral This Week

Betty White has not died but there’s a number of people on social media sites saying otherwise on Thursday.

“Wtf, I didn’t even know that Betty White died. She was that [expletive] and will never be forgotten!!” tweeted one person.

“R.I.P Betty white !!!!!!!!!” wrote one person on Twitter.

Tweeted another, “Betty white died?!?”

White, 92, has not been reported dead by any local or national news sources.

The hoax appears to have originated from the website eBuzzd.

Two days ago, White appeared on WWE’s “Raw” as a host.

“I can’t possibly tell you how thrilled I am to be a guest here on Monday Night Raw,” she said. “I can’t tell you how much fun I’ve had tonight. I haven’t been around this many men in tiny trunks since … last night,” added White.

She recently had her 92nd birthday in January.

“Retirement is not in my vocabulary,” she had been quoted as saying several years ago. “They aren’t going to get rid of me that way.”

White is considered a pioneering female comic.

She got famous on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Golden Girls” but her career has had a bit of a resurgence when she made cameo appearances on “Community” and “Saturday Night Live.”

She has her own show, “Hot in Cleveland” on TV Land, which starts its fifth season March. Lifetime will also bring her show “Off Their Rockers” back on the air later this year.
