Rumors are flying about Thor 3 since it was confirmed recently, and some say that the movie will be about Ragnarok–while others claim that the movie will meld with Agents of Shield.
Marvel announced that producer Craig Kyle and writer Christopher Yost will be writing the script for Thor 3.
The Ragnarok theme isn’t official yet but the pair have teased fans about the final battle of the Norse gods before.
In addition, Chris Hemsworth (Thor) told Screen Rant recently that though doesn’t officially know what will happen in Thor 3, he has an idea.
“I think that in the comic book the sort of end of days, Armageddon aspect is probably the direction in which it will all head in,” he said. “Where it’s sort of the end of all things and there’s obviously no script or anything when I read the comic books I thought it was an interesting way to go.”
Avengers 2, or Avengers: Age of Ultron, could set up Midgard and Asgard for a possible war, according to what sources told HitFix.
“Could we be looking at the beginning of Ragnarok, brought on by Loki in the guise of Odin? Could the third film find Thor having to fight against the realm that he’s spent so much time defending?”
The original Thor-Ragnarok story involves Thor being missing and presumed dead, and the Asgardian gods all killing each other.
They’re later revived by more powerful gods, who put fresh memories into them.
Tony Stark (Iron Man) clones Thor and fuses him with Iron Man technology to try to stop what’s happening.
Besides a meld with the Iron Man universe, there’s speculation that Agents of Shield, a television show on ABC, could be combined with Thor.
Thor 3’s release date is May 6, 2016, which means that the third season of Agents of Shield should be finished. That season could build into the Thor movie.
Besides Hemsworth (Thor), there hasn’t been confirmation of which cast members–including Natalie Portman–are or are not returning.
