Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Spoilers and Preview; No Release Date, Trailer Yet

Sons of Anarchy season 6 wrapped up in December with the finale getting over five million viewers, and season 7 is slated to begin this fall on FX. What spoilers have been coming out about the upcoming season, including potential additions to the cast?

Let’s take a look at some of them coming out:

-Jax has become like Clay in a way. “The sort of irony of the crown is that you can’t necessarily sit at the head of that table and not become Clay. In Jax’s mind, he is the anti‑Clay,” creator Kurt Sutter told Entertainment Weekly. “Like he’s doing everything for completely different reasons. But the truth is, the behavior is still the same. Ultimately that’s what Chibs is trying to get through to him. But in Jax’s mind, he knows he’s not Clay.  He’s not doing things out of greed. He’s not doing things out of self‑motivation. In his mind, he’s doing things for his family and the club, but he’s still doing things like Clay would do them. How do you rectify that?  It’ll be up and down for Jax, as it should be. I think he’ll have those moments where he has awareness and does the right thing and then he’ll have those moments in episodes where, you know, he is who he is and he’s going to respond the way he knows how to respond.”

-Now that Clay is dead, it’s likely that few if any of the other main characters will be killed off soon. “I don’t kill off characters, you know, at least the main characters easily,” Sutter said. “It would be difficult if I got rid of characters like Tig and Juice and Chibs, especially with Opie gone. They feel like family to people. You have to be very careful not to be arbitrary in terms of who lives and who dies.”

-Jax’s “True North” has been removed, Sutter told TVLine. “What direction it will push him in we will see next season. But what happens to a guy like that now that he’s lost both of the people he loves the most, who were able to be his moral compass, with Opie and now Tara. It really is Jax completely untethered and on his own in the final season.”

-Nero (Jimmy Smits) will be back, Sutter confirms. “I love him and feel that he brings such gravitas to the show… I want to be able to play that out,” he said.

-Peter Weller will also be back.

-Wendy (Drea de Matteo) will have a larger role because she’s been upgraded to a series regular, reported TVLine.

-CCH Pounder and Kim Dickens might or might not be back.
