George Middle School is on lockdown on Monday after a nearby shooting, said Portland police.
All students and staff members are safe, Erin Hoover Barnett, Portland Public Schools spokeswoman, told The Oregonian.
The shooting happened in the 10000 block of North Burr Avenue.
The condition of the victim, thought to be an adult male, is unknown.
“The North Portland school lets out at 3:45 pm and we are hopeful that the lock down will be lifted prior to then. We will post an update here,” said the district via Facebook.
“Parents should NOT try to pick up children early.”
