New Guinness World Records: From a Skateboarding Goat to the Largest Motorcycle (+Videos)

Guinness World Records announced Thursday the new records in its 2014 book. Here are some highlights:

Rohan Kokane, 12, of India: Lowest Limbo Skater

Kokane skated 10 meters (32.8 feet) at a height of 25 centimeters (9.84 inches). He started skating at the age of 8 and is a member of the Belgaum Roller Skating Academy, participating in events to create awareness of social issues.

Fabio Reggiani, 32, Italy: Owner of the Largest Rideable Motorcycle

Reggiani’s ride is 5.10 meters (16 feet and 8.78 inches) tall from the ground to the top of the handlebars. It is 2.5 meters (8.2 feet) wide and weighs 5,000 kilograms (5 tons), making it about six times larger than a normal motorcycle.

He gets a variety of reactions riding the monstrous motorcycle, but his favorite is: “O mamma mia come è grande!!!” [“Oh my mother, how big it is!”]

Ozzy, 4, Border Collie/Kelpie Crossbreed, UK: Fastest Crossing of a Tightrope by a Dog

Ozzy crossed a 3.5-metre-long (11.48-foot-long) rope in 18.22 seconds. His owner,  51-year-old Carpenter Nick Johnson, told Guinness: “Ozzy is most happy when he’s working on the tricks that we do and regards it as a game. We also only practice when Ozzy is in the mood, after he’s done all his important dog stuff, like sniffing around and meeting other dogs.”

Happie, Goat, USA: Farthest Distance Skateboarded by a Goat

Happie skated 36 meters (118 feet) in 25 seconds.

Leilani Franko, UK/Philippines: Fastest Human Backbend Walk

Franco walked on her hands and feet in the backbend position a distance of 20 meters (65 feet and 7.2 inches) in 10.05 seconds.

“Being in the circus is like living the life of a rock star, because we get to travel the world, stay in the best hotels, and we kind of don’t have any responsibility except to show up at the show,” she said in a Guinness video.

She studied at the National Circus School of Canada for three years to learn her contortion tricks.

This reminds me of the story, “I will be a hummingbird”, a very poignant tale that shows that all of us have it in us to make a difference. We may not be able to do much, but so long as we do the best we can it will surely help someone, even if it’s only one person.
