A gruesome accident in Pinetown, South Africa left 27 people dead and dozens injured.
The driver of the truck that crashed into four minibus taxis and a car in Field’s Hill, Pinetown has been arrested and charged with culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving, reported City Press.
Police are investigating the crash while people try to recover and respond.
Jeff Radebe, acting president of the African National Congress, said in a statement that “The loss of such a high number of people, some of them breadwinners is painful and has affected so many households negatively.”
“We urge road users especially drivers to exercise caution on the roads especially when carrying passengers.”
