This long weekend take advantage of the free activities around the city without breaking the bank. (The bank will be closed on Monday, by the way.)
Whether you choose to power up in the morning with outdoor exercises at Fort Tryon Park, learn how to juggle, or watch a screening of an opera at the Lincoln Center, make sure to enjoy your Labor Day weekend.
1. Morning Fitness at Fort Tryon Park
Saturday 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m.
Fort Tryon Park, Manhattan
A refreshing exercise outdoors that consists of an hour of walking, stretching, and strengthening will get anyone powered up on a Saturday morning.

2. Carol Bove, “Caterpillar” display
Saturday 2 p.m.
High Line Park
This reservations-only art exhibition will be open to the public on the old Rail Yards that are now an elevated park known as the High Line. (Make your reservation at carolbovecaterpillar.eventbrite.com)

3. Central Park Dance Skaters
Sunday 2:45 p.m.-6:45 p.m.
Bring out your roller blades and get rolling around Central Park to the sounds of DJs spinning some seriously upbeat tracks. All ages are welcome to participate.

4. Verdi’s Aida screening

Browse the vendor displays of a busy marketplace in the Lower East Side where you can find vintage clothing, jewelry, crafts, home supplies, and of course, food!

6. Juggling Lessons
Monday 12 p.m.-1 p.m.
You can join the juggling team with free juggling lessons at Bryant Park this Monday. All skill levels are welcome.

The Williamsburg Waterfront
This huge Brooklyn flea and food market introduces the best of food and drink in Williamsburg’s East River State Park or in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

8. NYC Unicycle Festival
Saturday and Sunday 12 p.m.-5 p.m.
Bindlestiff Family Cirkus hosts three days of one-wheeled races, games and exhibitions. Join New York’s legendary King Charles Troupe for team activities on a unicycle, including hockey, basketball, and sumo wrestling. Beginner lessons also offered.

South Street Seaport
It’s an all summer program of events aimed at revitalizing the South Street Seaport. Check out the outdoor yoga on Saturdays or the two-story pop-up mall that has all kinds of vendors, a bakery and a bar.
