India: Footprints in Rock Evidence of Ancient People From Sky?

Footprints on a rock in Piska Nagri village, on the outskirts of Ranchi City in Jharkahnd State, India. Probably thousands of years old, these footprints are engraved on granite rock by the earlier inhabitants of the area and are believed by the locals to be those of king gods Rama and Lakshmana. The universe is full of mysteries that challenge our current knowledge. In "Beyond Science" Epoch Times collects stories about these strange phenomena to stimulate the imagination and open up previously undreamed of possibilities. Are they true? You decide.

A quaint village in central India has fueled some Facebook discussion on ancient foot prints and an engraved image of a mysterious flying object.

In Piska Nagri village, on the outskirts of Ranchi City in Jharkahnd State, geologist Nitish Priyadarshi has been studying large footprints that, according to local lore, may signify the presence of gods from the sky landing on site.

The footprints are on a rock and look like they were of those wearing wooden sandals commonly worn thousands of years ago in the region. One set of footprints measures 11 inches in length and 5 inches in width, and another set in the same area measures 10 inches by 4.5 inches. God-kings of Indian mythology Lord Rama and Lord Lakshmana are believed to have spent time in the area in search of Rama’s wife, Sita.

Priyadarshi said the imprints are on granite rock, and thus were likely carved there rather than imprinted on the hard substance. “It may have been made by the local people manually at that time in memory of the visitors,” he said.

What Priyadarshi finds interesting is the engraved image of a flying object next to the footprints.

“The footprints and the flying object are on the same piece of rock on each other’s side. Maybe they were engraved to show that the two king gods arrived at the place on a flying object,” Priyadarshi said.

The age of the footprints has still not been ascertained. “Seeing the weathering stage [foot prints found here are weathered] of the foot prints it can be said that the age of the foot prints may be thousands year old,” he said.

There have been many discoveries of ancient footprints around the world. Many of them are thousands of years old and are both natural (left by ancient inhabitants) and carved, denoting some meaning.

The Romans carved footprints before a journey as protective rites. Footprints were carved upon leaving for a journey and as thanksgiving for a safe return. In Ireland and northern Europe, rock footprints were closely associated with kingship or chieftainship.

Priyadarshi said: “We live in a highly advanced, technical world, but there are nevertheless a great many mysteries all around us. Ancient places and mysterious beings, sunken worlds and cultures, landscapes imbued with symbolism, unexplained apparitions, and unbelievable finds from ancient times—all of these remain mysteries for humankind, despite intense investigations.”

Those aren’t really very large dimensions, that’s almost the exact dimensions of my foot and I’m only 6′. Though I do have to wear extra wide shoes.

Perhaps to the minds of hindu fundamentlists who take the rama sita story as true accounts, it is very real to them unquestionable and inrefutable evidence . Thhe outline of this article only goes to show that there is no such thing as any definite and conclusive answers to the mystery of life and the universe and that neither evolution or creation in some supreme being and the preservation and enhancement of any cultural, religious, moral, societial and civil values of any human civilisation and heritage is totally invalid other than to stimulate some anthropological mystery interest .

Dear Tsung you have not seen the full research. Its only an abstract on the news. With identification of foot print you can not say anything about mystery of life. It re flexed only the thinking of the society at that time. You can not jump on any conclusion only by reading the abstract. Now please stop writing words like Hindu fundamentalist. Ram and Sita are now accepted as historical facts.

That is absolutely your and their problem . The reply to me is nonetheless imaterail and irrelevant as I am absolutely and completely not interested in the existence of the universe and learning about life and I hate those who want to search for any answers to the meaning of life and I am completely opposed to those who want to gain any wisdom and any knowledge and understanding of the truth and I will not tolerate and respect any religious, moral and human values and for life . So don’t even brother to communicate any further .

Felix, I can’t imagine what happen in your life that made you resent all humans and any sort of higher power. I am sorry to say this but you must live a sad lonely life full of emptiness and regrets. I hope that one day a light will shine in heart and you will see the truth beyond what we see with our eyes. When there is a light, darkness ceases to exist.

          • Nitish Priyadarshi

ok Tsung I respect your sentiments. If you are against all humans and religion then why you are wasting your energy in giving comments and insulting others. My humble suggestion to you isolate yourself form this world.

Ah there we go again! Christian fundamentlsit who support creation scientific legalism ! What utter rot ! As to the immaculate conception, it is only a personal matter of faith in the gosel mystery . Personally I do but that’s besides the point . As Capra puts it Sceince can support that some greater power or being does exist but religious convictions are entirely personal contentions. There simply is no such thing as any connection btw God and the mystery of the universe aND THE origins of life

      • Chris

If there is a God (and there is) then the connection is essential.

    • Chris

That’s 6000 years, and our Savior was born of Mary, who was a virgin.

The Paluxy river tracks are not carved, and apparently there are more in the general area. The only problem is it would destroy darwinism for the creation of man. For some reason the scientists do not like this idea. Maybe because they would have to come up with another theory, and throw away a lot of history books, and apologize to all the people that they shoved this information down their collective throats. Much easier to sweep it under the rug like a lazy house cleaner. By the way, I am not a christian, so I do not have a religious bias.
