Rapper Lil’ Kim’s Latest Look Sparks Outrage Online

Lil’ Kim apparently has gone through a bit of a physical transformation lately.

The rapper recently posted pictures of herself on Facebook and Instagram, and she was immediately derided for her appearance. Some accused her of “looking white.”

Another asked: “Is that really Lil’ Kim?”

According to CNN, Kim, born Kimberly Denise Jones, has been the subject of speculation that she has undergone plastic surgery treatments.

She told radio host Angie Martinez that she got work done on her nose.

“It don’t bother me because I told you, I’m beautiful,” Kim said in 2005. “I love myself. … People think I did it because I had low self-esteem, but that wasn’t the case. I think I did it because I was a little too vain.”

Now, the speculation has focused on whether she’s underwent skin bleaching, makeup, or if her recent photos were edited with Photoshop.

Celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Breslow told the New York Post that he fears Kim “should seek professional help.”

“Based on these pictures alone, she’s going to end up destroying her face if she continues,” he told the New York Post. He added that he’s not a mental health professional and hasn’t treated the 41-year-old “Crush on You” rapper.

He said she might be addicted to plastic surgery.

Breslow said a sign of addiction is “seeking excessive numbers of cosmetic procedures for a given body area with lack of satisfaction for what others would see as a good result.”

Kim, he speculated, has spent between $20,000 to $25,000 on several procedures, including fillers to the cheeks or cheek implants, rhinoplasty, a chin implant, lip augmentation, and skin bleaching.

He also said excessive skin lightening could be harmful in the long run.

“It’s generally achieved with lightening peels or … creams and lotions that contain lightening agents,” Breslow told the paper. “However, these agents can thin the skin and cause damage. Some agents may contain mercury, which can cause nerve damage.”
