Watch: Parking Warden Moves Cone Near Car to Give It a Ticket

A viral clip shows a parking attendant moving a cone next to a car before issuing a ticket.

The footage was filmed in Hull, England, on Wednesday by a dash camera in a car owned by Harvey Saunders, according to the Metro.

Saunders, 41, installed the camera after he was that he was getting tickets for no reason.

He caught an attendant giving him a £70 fine (about $99) after he’s seen moving the cone next to Saunders’ vehicle.

“When I found the ticket on my car I thought I actually couldn’t believe that I had bought a camera but not left it running. I was so relieved when I discovered I had in fact left it recording,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.

He later confronted the officer about the ticket.

“I actually caught up with him a little later, purely by accident, he was still in the area,” he added. “I asked him about what he had done and he said, and I quote ‘well you shouldn’t have parked there should you.

“I told him I had recorded him moving the cone, and I was recording him now. That’s when he went mad.”

A council spokesman attempted to explain the situation to the Mirror.

“When we need to suspend parking bays temporarily we place portable cones on the road or footpath,” the spokesperson said. “Unfortunately, people moving them is not uncommon, as happened in this case which can result in us taking enforcement action.

“The officer was correct to return the cone to the original location but not to use it as evidence to issue a ticket in this instance.”
