Chef Sookie St. James is back!
After much speculation about whether or not Chef St. James will return to the fictional town of Stars Hollow, located in Connecticut, Melissa McCarthy announced on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” that she will partake in the “Gilmore Girls” revival after all.
“There has been something I’ve been asked about so, so many times, and it hasn’t worked out. They’re making four new movies of the ‘Gilmore Girls,’ which is a show that was near and dear to my heart for four years, and we could not get those schedules to work,” McCarthy said on the April 7 airing. “Literally about an hour and a half ago, we figured out that I’m going to go back and do it, and I am so excited!”
The 45-year-old actress, who is currently promoting her new film, “The Boss,” is excited to reunite with her former castmates Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham.
“They’re going to be amazing! Amy Sherman-Palladino [series’ creator] is going to squeeze me in to do it,” stated McCarthy. “And I’m very happy to go back to Stars Hollow. It just happened. I got asked a lot about it.”
Lauren Graham, who plays McCarthy’s best friend, Lorelai, on “Gilmore Girls” is just as excited. Graham tweeted “Yay, Sookie! This makes me so so happy. Let’s all go see@TheBossFilm this weekend to celebrate.”
