Texas mom Jenny Fallow was miffed after learning her pre-teen daughter was booted from a cheerleading team because she has curly hair.
Makayla was told to stay on the team she’d have to straighten her hair, but she declined to do so and was thus kicked off.
“Just a few weeks ago is the first time I had heard about a special hairstyle,” mom told KTRK.

I felt like I might make my daughter feel like her hair is not good enough because she’s not like other girls.”
Fallaw said she met with team officials saying the “treatment” would “destroy her hair,” but they refused to allow her back on the team.
“When you come into the sport, you understand there is make up to it. There’s hair to it,” he said.

“We were trying to make the exception. We were trying to find a compromise and a happy medium. And she [Jenny Fallaw] wasn’t willing to have a compromise. She was very defensive.”
“My wife is a hairstylist. We showed her how to straighten her hair,” he added to ABC. “It seems so little or small to anyone else, [but] uniformity on that is half the battle.”
