Bills with “Quitting the CCP” Slogan Are Popular in China

As of April 25, nearly 10 million people in China have renounced the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations on the Tuidang (Quit the CCP) website hosted by the The Epoch Times. Celebration events have been conducted all around the world. Because of the lack of Internet access, many mainland Chinese are promoting the campaign via notice boards, bus station display boards, and even on electricity poles and that's not all.

An Epoch Times journalist first saw bank notes with slogans such as “Read the Nine Commentaries,” “Hurry, Quit the CCP”, and “Heaven Eliminate the CCP,” last November, and he realized then that it was getting popular for mainland Chinese people to pass these messages using bills.

According to an interview conducted by a journalist with several people who promoted this method, they said, normally, they would choose smaller currency because the larger notes such as 100 yuan were few and far between, the one and two yuan notes were more widely circulated in the bus service system in some cities and in most supermarkets. Normally, people who have this kind of money would try to use them, but recently, there were also people collecting them as souveniers for when the communist regime collapses these “notes” could be worth a lot of money.

People also told the journalist that many people put down their declaration of quitting the CCP and other banned words on the bills, and with the help of the Internet, this method has been widely spread all over the country. Many web surfers not only promote this method to their friends via the Internet, but also encourage their parents and relatives to participate in the activity.

The people who participate in the activity come from different social backgrounds but share a common hatred for the communist regime. They were not necessarily Falun Gong practitioners or former Party members. Because the regime has set up too many oppositions in China, almost all levels of the Chinese society have been persecuted one way or another by the regime at some time. They chose this method of writing slogans on the bills mainly because it was safe, fast with a wide circulation, and it created a big impact.
