Many families and friends gather to celebrate Chinese New Year in China. This provided a good opportunity for people to promote the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and to provide information about quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). During the New Year, various methods were used to let more people know about the Nine Commentaries and the wave of resignations from the CCP.
Nine Commentaries Appears on a State-Run TV Network in Liaoning Province
On February 5, 2006, the Nine Commentaries appeared on a state-run TV network in Haicheng City in Liaoning Province, courtesy of a tap by some brave and compassionate people. This righteous incident shocked China's central government compound, Zhongnanhai, located in Beijng. The CCP's central government gave orders to solve the case within a limited time. This launched a citywide search of Haicheng City. Even the police in neighboring Anshan City joined the search. This incident was a New Year's gift to the Chinese people.
In July and August of 2005, the Nine Commentaries appeared on 25 state-run TV networks in several areas courtesy of a tap. The areas included were Ji County in Tianjin City, Guan County in Shandong Province, Shanghai City, Shenzhen City, Hunan Province, Yunnan Province, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia Province and Zhejiang Province.
Greetings Sent and People Urged to Withdraw from CCP Organizations
Several hundred million people in China returned home to celebrate the New Year, visited friends and/or sent well wishes via text messaging on cell phones. Many people were asking questions, “Have you read the Nine Commentaries ? Have you quit the CCP? How can I quit the CCP?” The Nine Commentaries and Quitting the CCP banners, posters and booklets appeared in many places throughout China. Many people received nicely wrapped gifts of the Nine Commentaries DVDs and/or books.
An advocate for quitting the CCP organizations in Shijiazhuang City of Hebei Province went to his friend's house to deliver the Nine Commentaries . His friend's husband said that every day while walking in the park they hear people talking about quitting the CCP and no longer paying Party membership dues. A police officer's brother called from the northeast and mentioned that many people there are also discussing the issue of quitting the CCP.
Many people would like to quit the CCP, but do not know how. A friend from China said his in-laws have quit the CCP, including his sister-in-law and her family. His sister-in-law went to work one day and talked about the Nine Commentaries with her colleagues. One of them asked if she had quit. She told them she quit a long time ago. All her colleagues said they want to quit, but could not find anyone to help them. Eventually, a person from a transportation company helped each of them quit.
Nine Commentaries Spreads Quickly
Word about the Nine Commentaries and quitting the CCP has been spreading quickly in China. According to the Global Center for Quitting the CCP, huge numbers of phone calls and emails from overseas are passing information about the Nine Commentaries and quitting the CCP into China every day. The Chinese people are breaking through the Internet information blockade. They are finding various ways to declare their resignations from the CCP.
Chinese tourists in Hong Kong eagerly watched the Chinese New Year parade in support of those who have quit the CCP. They obtained information about the Nine Commentaries and quitting the CCP organizations through The Epoch Times and the Center for Quitting the CCP in Hong Kong. They did not have enough Nine Commentaries DVDs to meet the demand in Guangdong Province. Pirated copies of these DVDs normally cost two to three yuan (US$ 0.3) each, but official copies of the Nine Commentaries were going for over ten times more. Nobody seemed to mind paying full price without bargaining.
The Nine Commentaries has triggered a wave of withdrawals from the CCP in China. As of today, the number of people who have openly quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations, tabulated on the Epoch Times website has reached almost eight million.
