Coulter: Murder Post About Meghan McCain Was a ‘Joke’

Coulter murder post: Fox News pulled an Ann Coulter post from its website on Thursday after she essentially called for the murder of John McCain’s daughter, Meghan. But Coulter later contended that it was merely a joke.

TheWrap reported that the post was pulled after it was published on Wednesday. Fox News did not respond immediately to the website’s questions about the post.

“MSNBC’s Martin Bashir suggested that Republican senators need to have a member of their families killed for them to support the Democrats’ gun proposals. (Let’s start with Meghan McCain!)” Coulter wrote.

Later, Meghan McCain expressed her displeasure with Coulter’s post, going on Twitter to fire back.

“A little perspective this morning. People like ann coulter are part of the past and only live to spread hate and negativity,” she wrote.

Coulter on Thursday night told Fox News pundit Sean Hannity that her comments were a “joke” and added that it is “Bashir who was not joking when he asked rhetorically, ‘Are we going to have to have the child of a Republican senator killed to have them support this gun bill.”

In reference to the McCain bit, Hannity said, “You were being sarcastic.” Coulter responded: “I think the exclamation point made it clear. And the fact that everyone laughed when they read it.”

McCain, however, did not see it that way.

“I just saw Ann Coulters response on Sean Hannity. It’s just beyond comprehension. Glad my hypothetical murder ‘made everyone laugh,’” she tweeted.
