Over the weekend, a volcano in southern Chile erupted, spewing ash over the countryside.
Reports on Monday said that surrounding areas remained on alert and some roads were closed as residents kept a tentative watch on the Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcano complex.
Around 3,500 residents were forced to evacuate after Puyehue spewed ash and smoke six miles into the air, blanketing nearby parts of Chile and Argentina.
