A 12-year-old boy reportedly called out a cop for apparently parking his motorcycle illegally in Las Vegas.
In the video, the boy, who calls himself Jeremy, approaches Las Vegas Metro officer, requesting his badge number after the officer parked his motorcycle on the sidewalk, according to Boingboing.com.
“Hello, is there a reason for you to park on the sidewalk. Is it an emergency or something?” the boy asks, before requesting the cop for his badge number. “Can I please see your badge number,” he requests before the cop refuses and then drives off.
The incident was posted on Reddit.com and YouTube, showing the cop refusing to give his badge number, drawing outrage and debating Reddit.
“The cop had a chance to treat a curious kid with respect and have a real conversation with a community youth. Instead, he gave the kid the same [bad] attitude he probably gives everyone he encounters. What kind of cop asks a twelve year-old for ID?” one Redditor, “tha_snazzle,” commented.
But others said that the boy was just being a pest.
“Don’t say that he’s some curious kid. He knows exactly what’s up. He’s out there calling the cop out on a mistake, on breaking the law, whatever. He’s not curious. He knows that the cop has violated motor-vehicle regulation. And he’s filming it to catch the cop and hold him accountable,” user “Konstiin“ wrote. ”Pretending that he’s just some curious kid is bullcrap.”
