A brush fire that grew to five acres in Kingston, Ontario slowed rail traffic and was visible across the city.

The fire started late Thursday and firefighters battled the blaze through Friday evening.

About 30 firefighters were battling the fire on Thursday. All but two were pulled at about midnight due to limited visibility, reported the Daily Freeman.

Firefighters came back on Friday to continue battling the fire, Deputy Fire Chief Wayne Platte said.

The fire burned land near the CSX railroad tracks near West O'Reilly Street, slowing but not completely halting rail traffic.
