NYC Q&A: How Have You Been Keeping Your Spirits Up in the Aftermath of Hurricane Sandy?

Hurricane Sandy has left some New Yorkers homeless and others coping with the loss of water and power. In the face of utter disaster, and the inconvenience of no Internet, cellphone, refrigeration, or hot water, New Yorkers are finding ways to cope—and finding ways to keep their spirits up.
I was born in New York, so I’m kind of used to this. You sort of roll with it, follow instructions, and keep safe.
We have three new kittens, they all play with each other; sometimes we play with them.
We’re in walking distance from work, so we go and charge our things there. There’s some good battery on the laptop, so we’ve been watching some movies.
Ninety percent of the people left our building, so my husband is playing his guitar and sometimes his saxophone.
