A plane crashed into a house in Columbus, Indiana on Thursday morning, and the house caught on fire. No one was in the house, which is near Columbus Municipal Airport, when it happened.

At least two people were on board the plane, says the Indianapolis Star.

The crash happened shortly before 9:30 a.m., when the plane crashed into a house in the 2200 block of Broadmoore Lane on the northern edge of Columbus.

Officer Eric Kapczynski of the Columbus Police Department said the people on the plane were burned badly.

Most of the roof of the house has been burned away, it appears from aerial photographs of the house.

The injured persons are being treated in the  Wishard Burn Unit in Indianapolis, reported local broadcaster WTHR-TV.
