Bangalore has emerged as the best salary paying city in India followed by Pune and Mumbai.
The cities were declared the most lucrative in the Indian job market in a survey done by recruitment tendering platform MyHiringClub and FlikJobs.
According to the survey, the average salary in Bangalore in calendar year 2012 stood at Rs 6,13,100 (around $11,274) whereas it was Rs 5,42,432 (around $9,974) in Pune. The average salary of professionals in Mumbai was Rs 51,46,070 million.
The report based on a survey among 2,189 employers across 18 major cities in India indicated the average median salary for IT professionals was also the highest in Bangalore (Rs 3,96,935 to Rs 17,26,551) followed by Pune (Rs 3,28,412 to Rs 16,17,959).
However, Mumbai offered the best salary to sales professional in 2012 with median salary in the range of Rs 3,32,412 to Rs 16,13,510, it added.
Indian metropolitan cities in the recent decade have fast emerged as major attractions for the country young professional force. Increase in salaries has led to increasing purchasing power, which has further encouraged other consumer markets in the cities providing jobs to many others.
According to another survey by MyHiringClub, the country is also expected to hire around 50,000 non-resident Indian (NRI) professionals this year, compared to 27,983 recruited last year.The survey indicated that despite all the talk of a gloomy economy, India was able to create 700,000 jobs in 2012. The number in 2013 is expected to top 1.1 million.
