A

yellow taxi cab ran into an East Village coffee shop early on Sunday morning. The cab swerved into the shop after it was trying to avoid a black SUV, which cut the cab off. NY1 reports that five people were injured in the incident, which occurred around 1:30 a.m. at 1st Avenue and 3rd St. at the Bean Coffee Shop.

“The cab tried to get out of the way of it, and it went right over that right there, right through the glass, there was a guy inside the store, he was standing right by the glass and he got hit,” a witness told NY1.

The driver and the passenger were injured along with three people who were hit by the cab. All five injured people were rushed to the hospital and authorities say that none of the injuries are life threatening.
