Fans of Taco Bell are disappointed after the fast food chain delayed the launch of tacos that include shell made from Cool Ranch Doritos.
This week, Taco Bell said it had to delay the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos, which were slated to make their debut on Wednesday. “You can buy Cool Ranch DLT on March 6th!” reads a Facebook posting from the company a day ago.
However, on that same Facebook posting, there were a bevy of complaints launched at the Tex-Mex chain because local franchises apparently did not have the Doritos Locos Tacos.
“My son and I also have no cool ranch Doritos taco today either! Failed marketing attempt you have here!” reads a post from user Russell S. Reynolds.
Another user posted that when she went to a local Taco Bell, the tacos were not on hand, either. “Urbana Ohio Taco Bell told me they would not be selling them till tomorrow because they are a franchise and not a corperate store (sic),” the post reads.
But some said they accomplished their mission in procuring the food item.
“Got one at the Taco Bell at San Mateo and Osuna in Albuquerque. Delicious!” Facebook user Emily Anderson Aragon said.
Taco Bell, which is owned by Kentucky-based Yum Brams, sent out an apology in a statement for the delay, according to The Associated Press.
Some Facebook users said the tacos weren’t that great. “These are a complete disappointment,” said one.
And another said, “All of you shut up, it’s just a taco.”
