A Florida high school student was reportedly suspended after disarming another teen armed with a loaded gun and who threatened to shoot another student.
The unnamed student, who attends Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers, tackled a 15-year-old brandishing a gun and threatened to shoot another student on the bus, reported Fox-4 television.
Witnesses told the station that the student aimed the gun point plank at another student.
“I think he was really going to shoot him right then and there,” said the student, who sought anonymity, according to the network.
The student said that there was “no doubt” he saved the other student’s life by tackling the gunman, according to Fox.

However, the student was later suspended for being involved in an “incident” involving a loaded weapon. He was given an “emergency suspension,” Fox reported.
“It’s dumb,” he added. “How they going to suspend me for doing the right thing?”
The teen’s mother said that if the student and others had not acted, “there would have been a lot of fatalities.”
The gunman, who was identified as Quadryle Davis by WVZN-TV, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm on school property.
The victim in the incident recalled to WVZN details of when Davis pointed a gun at him: “I said, ‘Are you going to shoot me bro?’ And he said, Yeah, I’m going to whack you.’” That’s when other students rushed and grabbed Davis.
Lee County Sheriff Office Sgt. David Valez said an investigation is ongoing.
