Following the San Francisco Giants sweep of the Detroit Tigers in the World Series, riots broke out Sunday night and early Monday morning. At least 35 people were arrested.

A public transit bus was lit on fire, a vehicle was turned over, and rioters also broke the windows of businesses and vehicles following the Giants win, reported KTVU television. The bus was recently refurbished and cost $700,000, a local official said.

“We responded to approximately 76 fires last night,” San Francisco Fire Department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge told the station. “At this point we’re attributing most of them, if not all of them, to celebratory-type activity.”

Fans also climbed on top of vehicles and minibuses, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.

Some people also set street bonfires and danced around the flames, while others set of fireworks. Police attempted to disperse the crowds, but the revelers threw bottles at them before authorities closed in, according to the newspaper.

Authorities told KTVU that there were several injuries.
