William Rhinaman, an employee of Steubenville City Schools, has been indicted by a grand jury on Monday in a student rape case.

Rhinaman, 53, was indicted by the grand jury on charges of tampering with evidence, obstructing justice, obstructing official business, and perjury, according to the Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, reported NBC.

“This is the first indictment in an ongoing grand jury investigation. Our goal remains to uncover the truth, and our investigation continues,” DeWine said.

The 14-member grand jury is investigating whether other crimes were broken in the case of an eastern Ohio girl raped last year planned to hear more evidence Friday.

One of the chief issues before the panel meeting in Steubenville is whether adults, such as coaches or school administrators, knew of the allegation but failed to report it as required by state law.

DeWine announced the grand jury March 17, the day a judge convicted two Steubenville high school football players of raping the West Virginia girl in August 2012.
