M

ayor Michael Bloomberg announced on Friday the final three public forums to be held before updates are made to PlanNYC. These updates will be publicized on Earth Day, April 22, 2011.

PlanNYC aims to put forth comprehensive strategies to promote future environmental policies and green practices in New York City. The initiative was first announced on Earth Day 2007, and no updates have been made since that time.

“The best suggestions on how to improve our communities and make them more sustainable invariably come from residents of those communities, so I encourage New Yorkers to participate in the three remaining Community Conversations,” Bloomberg said in a press release.

The public forums will be held at the following locations:

Monday, Dec. 6, 7–9 p.m.
State Office Building, Second Floor Gallery
163 West 125th Street (enter on 126th Street)

Eastern Queens:

32-24 Corporal Kennedy Street

South Brooklyn:
Thursday, Dec. 16, 6–8 p.m.
St. Michael’s RC Church, 352 42nd Street (enter through auditorium on 43rd Street)
