A suspect in a plot to bomb a bridge in Ohio pleaded guilty on Wednesday and said he would cooperate in prosecuting four other defendants in the case.
Cleveland native Anthony Hayne, 35, said he was part of the plot to blow up the Ohio 82 bridge in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.
Hayne could face as many as 19 years in prison for plotting to use a weapon of mass destruction to destroy the bridge, and other related charges.
Judge David D. Dowd Jr. told Hayne during the hearing that he must cooperate with the U.S. Attorney’s Office by “testifying in any and all court proceedings, if necessary,” reported the Akron Beacon Journal.
FBI agents said they foiled the plot by using an informant to supply the men with fake explosives before arresting the men in late April. They tried to blow up the bombs with a cellular phone.
