NEW YORK—While kids are getting excited for all the Halloween festivities, parents can rest assured that there’s plenty to entertain them with, like the Fall Festival at the CPE1 Elementary School or the annual Spook-Tacular at the Rockefeller Center. You can even find costume parades for your pets at the annual Halloween Dog Parade in Tompkins Square Park.
East Harlem Harvest Festival

Live music and entertainment, a flea market with fresh farm produce, artisan artists, kids activities, and a beer garden are just some of the features of this year’s East Harlem Harvest Festival.
Lower East Side Pickle Day

For everyone looking to snack on crunchy homemade pickles, the annual Pickle Day will feature world-renowned picklers, a home pickling contest with celebrity judges, live music, the Cucumber, vendors, games, and other family activities.
Barber and Moore Pianist

Location: 111 Amsterdam Av.
The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts will host pianist Benjamin Bradham who will perform during a free concert works by Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Liszt, and Samuel Barber’s Sonata.
1 Hour, 2 Sisters, 300 Years of Music
Sunday 5 p.m.–6 p.m.
Location: 319 W 107th Street
The Nicholas Roerich Museum will host two sopranos, Elizabeth and Natalie Fagan, with an appearance by tenor Stuart Homan, accompanied by John Arida on the piano. Works from composers span 300 years, including Haendel, Clara Schumann, Debussy and others.
Halloween Dog Parade
Sunday 12 p.m.–3 p.m.
Location: Tompkins Square Park
This annual parade is celebrating its 23rd year and is the perfect opportunity for every dog owner (or dog lover) to relish in some Halloween costume dress-up. The Tompkins Square Dog Run will be giving out prizes every hour for the best dressed.
Fall Festival
Saturday 12 p.m.–4 p.m.
Location: Central Park East One Elementary School
This schoolyard festival will include a large rummage sale, a farm stand, bouncy obstacle course, pumpkin decorating, arts and crafts activities, cupcake decorating, international food table, music entertainment and other activities for the whole family.
Halloween Spook-Tacular
Saturday 1 p.m.–4 p.m.
Location: 30 Rockefeller Plaza
Visitors are invited to the Top of the Rock which will host the annual, kids-friendly Halloween event, featuring face painting, magic shows, sweet treats, all the while taking in a 360-degree view of NYC. (Activities are free with admission)
Pumpkin Carving with Hugh McMahon
Saturday 2:30 p.m.–4 p.m.
Location: 19 Fulton St (Front/Row lawn)
Artist, Hugh McMahon, takes any ordinary piece of fruit and creates dynamic sculptures. McMahon has been featured in restaurants, events, on TV, and in books sold around the world as one of the most extraordinary carvers.
Garden City Street Fair
Saturday 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
Location: Seventh St. between Franklin Av. and Hilton Av.
This 34th, annual fair is a unique destination where consumers can interact with and buy from artisans who make their crafts and gifts by hand. There will also be a homecoming Parade at 1 p.m. for the Garden City High School.
