NEW YORK—The fifth annual Harlem Arts Alliance Arts Advocacy Week began on Sunday, with events continuing until Oct. 9.
This years theme is Harlem Arts & Culture: Resurgence and Renewal.
A plethora of plays and performances of all sorts will pervade Harlem’s halls and theaters. Arts week panel discussion topics include Black Women Playwrights: They Speak. Who Listens?, and Public Art: Advancing Diverse Perspectives.
On Saturday and Sunday, New Yorkers can go on a self-guided walking tour of Harlem art venues and artist studios for free by downloading a tour map at www.harlemaa.org.
