NEW YORK—Four people were killed and two injured in two separate shootings in Herkimer County, WKTV2 reported.

Police are looking for a single suspect, identified as Kurt Meyer, in both shootings. The suspect has been located in a multistory building in Herkimer and is shooting at SWAT buildings, according to limited transmissions from a police radio scanner. As of 3:42 PM police are still in a standoff with the suspect. Governor Cuomo is expected to hold a press conference. (Live feed)

Two people were killed at Gaffey’s Car Wash in the village of Herkimer. Shortly after, two people were killed and two injured at John’s Barber Shop in Mohawk, a 5-minute drive from the car wash.

There were reports of an explosion and fire on South Washington Street nearby prior to the shootings, WKTV reported. Meyers is said to have lived in the building and is suspected for setting that fire before the shootings.

Reports indicate that the suspect fled the scenes in a red jeep with a black top. Radio transmissions indicated that the car was located after 10 a.m., while the suspect who is said to have a long gun was still not apprehended.

Eyewitnesses told WKTV that many police officers with guns drawn were on North Main Street in Herkimer shortly after 11 a.m.

Schools is Herkimer, Mohawk, Illion, Frankfort, Richfield Springs, and Herkimer BOCES have been locked down. Herkimer County Community College and all of the Herkimer Area Resource Center have been locked down as well. All cases at the Herkimer Village Court are adjourned until March 27.
