The Intempo 47-story skyscraper, built in Spain, doesn’t have an elevator, as apparently, the builders forgot to put one in.

The 650-foot-tall skyscraper, located in the waterfront town of Benidorm, doesn’t have an elevator that can reach the top, reported El Pais, which said it saw the contract.

The skyscraper was originally intended to be 20 stories tall, but later, builders extended it to 47 stories. It means that the elevator only goes to the 20th floor, leaving out the other 27, according to the paper.

The current design doesn’t allow space for an elevator to the top floor, and the architects working on the building reportedly want it redesigned.

The skyscraper was slated to open in 2009 but was pushed back due to budget constraints. According to the Daily Mail, construction workers went without being paid for four months in 2010.

It is unclear what will happen next with the Intempo, which was intended to be a symbol for Spain’s and Benidorm’s prosperity..

Benidorm, located on the coast, is known as a summer destination for Europeans on vacation.
