An internet hacker group calling themselves the “Web Ninjas” claim to have determined the identity and location of the leader and other key members of LulzSec, another group of hackers responsible for many recent attacks on high-profile targets including PBS, Sony, and Infragard.

On the Web Ninjas’ website, lulzsecexposed.blogspot.com, several posts claim to reveal LulzSec hackers that had been “doxed”, or had their personal information discovered and exposed. Other posts contain chat logs leaked from LulzSec’s private IRC servers.

The group claims that the leader of LulzSec, going by the alias “Sabu”, is a 34 year-old webmaster, designer, and coder.

The group posted an apparent photo of Sabu’s face and revealed that they obtained his name, address, location, and occupation details, but are withholding that information, likely pending submission to the FBI, as they claim to have done for the information of other LulzSec hackers discovered before.

In a chat log posted to the online text board PasteBin, with authenticity that cannot be confirmed, several members of the “hacktivist” group Anonymous discussed exposed information tracked down by a security company called “Backtrace” regarding the identity of Sabu.

The log includes links to a Myspace page and a LinkedIn page of a man whose photo and professional description appear to match that of the photo and description given to Sabu on the Web Ninjas’ site.

Neither the Web Ninjas’ information nor the Anonymous chat log on PasteBin could be officially confirmed.
