Toddler missing after triple homicide: Authorities are searching for a Kansas toddler who went missing after her mother was found dead along with two other people earlier this week.

Three victims were found on a farm in rural Ottawa, Kansas on Monday. One of the victims had been missing since last week along with her 18-month-old daughter, Lana, reported CNN.

“Our priority is finding Lana,” Sheriff Jeff Richards told the network on Wednesday. Officials described the child as having light brown hair and blue eyes.

“We have three homicide victims that need justice and so do their families, and so we are going to continue to process through this investigation; we are going to continue to follow up on leads,” Richards added.

A suspect in the case, 27-year-old Kyle Flack, was arrested on Thursday, Richards told the Ottawa Herald newspaper.

In an update on Thursday, Richards said that “based on information developed overnight, we believe Lana is presumed to be a victim of homicide.”

“I don’t want to see anybody killed, but if Flack is convicted of killing that baby, he should get the death penalty,” Kathy Sheler, a resident of Ottawa, told the paper. “As a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, it just makes me want to cry. There is nothing worse than killing an innocent baby.”
