The Thanksgiving weather forecast for Philadelphia is this: Thursday is projected to be dry, windy, and cold.

But on Tuesday and Wednesday, a mix of rain and snow, or perhaps one or the other, is projected to delay travel in the area and to and from Philadelphia.

AccuWeather projects rain will begin falling on Tuesday afternoon, but that rain could at any time become a mix of rain and snow.

Temperatures are expected to rise on Tuesday evening, rain is forecast to fall throughout Philly. The two to four inches expected in some areas could cause flash flooding.

Cold air will likely sweep through on Wednesday, leaving a chance that some snow will fall, and roads will freeze.

Snow is possible from Eastern Ohio Valley/Central Appalachians to the Lower Great Lakes, the National Weather Service said.

No rain or snow is expected on Thanksgiving Day, but it is expected to be cold and windy.
