US iTunes account holders are the only users who can download the new iTunes Radio feature for iTunes 11.1, which is also available for iOS 7 devices as well as desktops. The streaming iTunes Radio allows only six skips per hour.

iTunes Radio is a streaming music service similar to Pandora, which offers custom stations based on genres and artists.

Digital Trends pointed out that iTunes Radio will differ from Pandora, which uses algorithms and user feedback to determine stations. Apple has apparently posted job offers for people with expert knowledge of different genres will be able to make better selections.

The website reported there was a job offering on Apple’s website that says it is looking for people who know about “Alternative [amd] Rock Latino, Brazilian, Pop Latino, Regional Mexicano, Salsa y Tropical, Latin Jazz, and Latin Urban music.”

“iTunes Radio is going to deliver music that will meet the enjoyment and needs of our customers. Playing the right songs, and coming up with the right themes is going to be a big part of the music programmer’s daily responsibility. There will be many instances to put a station together quickly with amazing quality,” it added.

The service is advertisement-free for subscribers of iTunes Match, and it includes unlimited track skipping.

The update is also offering Podcast Stations, allowing users to make custom stations and has a new Genius Shuffle feature that allows users to play complimentary songs.

“You can now use iTunes to sync your favorite music, movies, and more to devices with iOS 7. In addition, iTunes now makes it even easier to quickly organize and sync apps to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch,” reads a release from Apple.

It is unclear when users outside of the U.S. will get the new iTunes Radio feature.
