The Knicks have officially stopped the Lin-sanity.
With Tuesday night’s deadline behind them, the Knicks have declined to welcome back one of the most popular players in team history.
Instead point guard Jeremy Lin, who graced the cover of Sports Illustrated twice last season, is going to Houston with a three-year $25 million contract in hand.
Lin is familiar with the Rockets where he played for briefly before coming to Broadway.
“In his limited opportunity last season, Jeremy showed that he has all the skills to be a great player in this league for many years to come,” team owner Leslie Alexander said. “In addition to being a great passer, he is also exceptional at driving to the rim and finishing plays.”For the season, Lin averaged 14.6 points and 6.2 assists per game in 35 games, including 25 memorable starts last year.
