Pakistan Association AMSUA toppled Little Sai Wan (LSW) Prism in the Hong Kong Cricket Association Premier League 2-day, 2-innings match on Dec 25 and 26.

After losing the toss and being invited to bat, LSW scored a respectable 196 all out from 38 overs. In reply Pakistan Association were dismissed in their first innings for the low score of 114 in 28.2 overs. Openers K.H. Butt and N. Amar scored 37 and 15 respectively with B. Havat adding a further 26.

Pakistan tightened their bowling in LSW’s second innings and dismissed them for 89 runs in 30 overs with captain T. Afsal taking a remarkable 8 wickets for 23 runs in 13 overs and finishing with match figures of 13 wickets for 88 runs in 26 overs. His figures for the first innings were 5 wickets for 65 runs.

Pakistan Association did not waste their second chance scoring the required 172 to win for the loss of only three wickets in 35.1 overs. K.H. Butt scoring 45, N. Amar 52 and S. Skhawat 37 not out.

In leading after the first innings LSW Prism scored 5 points toward their standing rankings tally; while, Pakistan Association scored 10 points for the overall win.

In addition, in Premier League 2-day matches there are bonus points for runs scored (0.01 points) and wickets taken (0.20). With these bonus points, LSW scored a total of 5+2.6+2.85=10.45 points for this match ; while Pakistan Association AMSUA scored 10+4.0+2.86=16.86 points.

With all four teams in the Premier League 2-Day competition now having played one game each, Kowloon Cricket Club (KCC) lead with 22.28 points, ]Pakistan Association are second on 16.86, LSW Prism have 10.45 and Hong Kong Cricket Club (HKCC) have 5.45.

Coming Matches

The next Premier League 2-day matches are on Jan 12 and 13 when HKCC play LSW Prism at the HKCC Ground and KCC play Pakistan Association AMSUA at the KCC Ground.

The next Premier League 1-day matches are planned for Feb 17 when HKCC play Headwin Independents at HKCC Ground; and KCC play LSW Prism at the KCC Ground. With four matches played to date, three teams (KCC, Pakistan Association and LSW Prism) are all on three points, with HKCC on 10 and Headwin Independents are still zero. KCC and Independents, however, have only played one match against two for the other teams.

The Final of the T20 Premier League, likely to be between KCC and Pakistan Association AMSUA, is scheduled for Sunday Jan 6 at the KCC Ground.

Premier League 1-day, 2-day and T20 are stand-alone competitions.
