Flacco at McDonald’s: Joe Flacco was spotted at a Maryland McDonald’s right after signing a deal that was the most expensive in NFL history.

When Joe Flacco recently signed a deal to be the highest-paid player in the NFL, he celebrated at McDonald’s.
The Super Bowl-winning quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens recently inked a $120.6 million deal that includes $52 million guaranteed. It also includes a $29 million signing bonus.
Flacco visited the McDonald’s in Aberdeen, Md., right after signing the deal, according to ESPN. He ordered a 10-piece McNugget meal, with fries and iced tea for $6.99.
“I kept saying to the people I work with, ‘Doesn’t that look like Joe Flacco?’ ” teller Shelly Normal told the network when she saw him. “And then he turned towards the window and it was him.”
She asked him if was the Ravens quaterback and Flacco replied that he was.
This isn’t the first time that a well-known sports figure was spotted at a fast food restaurant after signing a contract or a making significant milestone. Jeff Van Gundy, when he signed a two-year contract extension with the New York Knicks in 1996, was spotted in a Honda Civic ordering at McDonald’s.
Several years ago, golfer Phil Mickelson was spotted at a Krispy Kreme still wearing his Masters jacket right after he won.
When asked about his deal, Flacco said that “it wasn’t necessarily about the money,” according to NFL.
He said, “It was, at that point, about earning that respect and feeling like I was respected around here. The fact that they have made me that definitely makes me feel good about how I played and how they feel about me.”
