Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel named Brady Quinn as his new starting quarterback in favor of incumbent Matt Cassel, who has struggled this season, according to a report on the NFL’s website.

“My biggest deal was my gut telling me that I needed to impact the team by changing the dynamic,” said Crennel, whose Chiefs are just 1-5 this season. “I am not saying Matt Cassel is the reason we are where we are.”

The 30-year-old Cassel, who was a Pro Bowl selection in 2010, has completed 58.5 percent of his passes this season but has just 5 touchdown passes as compared to 9 interceptions.

Quinn, who was a first round pick by Cleveland in 2007 is on his third different team while making 13 career starts. He has career totals of 10 touchdown passes, 11 interceptions, and a completion percentage of just 52.9.
